Taqman Genotyping

ABI Prism 7900 Taqman

The Taqman Assay is performed using ABI Prism 7900 HT Sequence Detection System, which allows single-plex SNP interrogation through fluorescence detection in real-time PCR. In this method, specialized probe oligonucleotides are used to distinguish the SNPs during or at the end of a PCR reaction.

Sample Type Minimum Volume Concentration Container Controls
Genomic DNA or WGA DNA 30 ul 5 - 10 ng/ul Full-skirted 96-well plate Leave well H12 empty for control

OpenArray SNP Genotyping platform

The Biotrove OpenArray SNP Genotyping Platform allows researchers to run 16, 32, or 64 Taqman assays on one OpenArray chip. The OpenArray chips require only 33 ul of assay allowing for significant cost savings.

Sample Type Minimum Volume Concentration Container Controls
Genomic DNA or WGA DNA 20 ul 50 ng/ul Full-skirted 96-well plate Please leave two wells empty for internal controls

Telomere length analysis

We provide a high-throughput quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR)-based assay to determine relative telomere length. The qPCR-based assay generates a Telomere to Single-copy gene (T/S) ratio that is proportional to a cell’s average telomere length.

Ordering and pricing

  • Taqman and OpenArray Genotyping Services - For more information, pricing, and customer inquiries, please contact Patrice Soule.
  • Telomere Length Analysis - For more information, pricing, and customer inquiries, please contact Patrice Soule.
  • Taqman studies (less than 96 samples) - Please send rs# of desired SNPs to PPMCore@partners.org. SNPs must be available as assays through ABI. The samples will be run on our ABI7500 Sequence detection system. Before genotyping can be carried out, please visit our order entry page to place a GIGPAD batch order.  For quotes and customer inquiries, please contact PPMCore@partners.org.  Our expected turn-around time for Taqman is 1–2 weeks to process once reagents are received. All incoming DNA is quality controlled by picogreen.
