Harvard Medical StudentsFounded in the 1970’s, the HMS Genetics Training Program is one of the oldest and largest programs in the country. This program has trained scientists and clinicians who have become leaders in academic genetics and has supported investigators, who have made major contributions to the clinical practice of genetics and genetics research.

The HMS Genetics Training Program offers the following Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)-accredited programs:

  • Clinical Genetics Residency
  • Medical Biochemical Genetics
  • Molecular Genetic Pathology

In conjunction with Children's Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital, combined training is offered in the following specialties:

  • Internal Medicine/Medical Genetics Residency
  • Maternal Fetal Medicine/Medical Genetics Fellowship
  • Pediatrics/Medical Genetics Residency

The program also offers three laboratory postdoctoral fellowship training programs accredited by the American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG):

  • Clinical Biochemical Genetics
  • Clinical Cytogenetics
  • Clinical Molecular Genetics

Upon successful completion of these intensive training programs, fellows will be active candidates for the ABMG Boards.

This program is currently administered by Boston Children’s Hospital.  To learn more about the program, you can go to http://msgenetictrain.wpengine.com/about-us/
